Moustache Fashion

I’m not exactly sure if I would go as far as painting a moustache on my face prior to a night on the town, but there is something very intriguing about the moustache trend. Recently, models on the runway, in fashion spreads and editorials have been flaunting little black moustaches. If you ask me, I think the reason behind this is to extract the subtle masculine features from certain garments. The trend has even gone as far as inspiring moustache parties and this years first Moustache Fashion Week. Okay, the fake stick on moustaches are awfully tacky, but I’m loving the painted little French curls on the runway and in magazines! But keep it at that…I don’t know if I can handle fake beards or side-burns…

HEY, IT'S OK...

...if your poker skills are limited to doing "Poker Face" at karaoke

...to use "Oh, look! I have champagne" as an occasion to drink it.

...to consult four different astrological compatibility charts until you find one that says he's a match.

...to sometimes use coffee and breakfast as synonyms.

...to overdress on purpose!

...to let your phone die and just be all 1995 for the day.

...if the plum you threw in your bag for a snack turns into a total plum-pocalypse
Two days later. You tried to be healthy!

...if you jus now found last years summer reading behind the couch. Half-read.

UM, NOT OK...
...to hint about flowers and then scowl when he gives you carnations. Baby steps!

Rockin’ Moroccanoil

Your #1 Hair Product

Soft, strong, and super sexy body. No, I'm not talking about The Bachelor’s, Sean Lowe. (OK, yes am!.…) But I'm also talking about the way my hair feels now that I've found the love of my life — Moroccanoil Treatment!

Oh yes, this hair product is an absolute must-have in our beauty arsenal. I'm all about sharing the love with the ladies, because the benefits of this little beauty booster are endless!

The super lightweight formula pioneered the oil-infused hair care category, and single-handedly created the worldwide buzz on argan oil. And after just a week of using the silky stuff, we all can completely see why!

Like a fountain of youth for your locks, Moroccanoil Treatment rejuvenates and strengthens with nourishing vitamins A, E, and F. And if your hair is looking dull, Moroccanoil helps restore elasticity and shine with antioxidant-rich argan oil and essential fatty acids. In fact, the formula absorbs instantly for a non-greasy, natural look that is an instant compliment magnet!

Fretting about frizz? Just a dollop protects from natural heat, humidity, and other factors that mess with our mane. Apply it before a blowout to reduce drying time and keep our hair untangled.

NATURAL HOME REMEDIES FOR BROKEN & HEAT DAMAGED HAIR

If you shampoo and condition your hair every day and it's still dry, frizzy and full of split ends, you may need to change how you care for your hair. Changing health and nutritional habits, as well as modifying your hair care regimen, can be beneficial.

SHAMPOO
Use a gentle shampoo when you wash your hair. Don't scrub your scalp or the strands of your hair vigorously when washing. Rinse your hair with lukewarm---not hot---water.
Look for a shampoo that says "moisturizes" on the bottle. The ingredients should clean your hair gently without stripping the needed oils from the hair shaft.
Don't wash your hair every day. Doing so removes the beneficial oil from the hair shaft, worsening broken and damaged hair.

CONDITIONER
Apply a conditioner to your hair while you're in the shower. Leave it in for about two minutes, then rinse it out with lukewarm water. When you're buying your conditioner, look for one that has a sun protection factor of at least 15, according to the All Hairstyles Haircuts website.
Deep condition your hair once a week or treat it with an oil---coconut, olive, almond or aloe will condition the roots and shafts. Leave the oil in your hair and cover your hair with a warm, moist towel for 15 minutes. Once the treatment is done, gently shampoo the oil out using a conditioning shampoo.

DRYING AND HEAT
Give your hair a break from hair dryers, flat irons and curling irons. When you dry your hair, allow it to air dry. Refrain from using the flat iron and curling iron too often---use them no more than twice per week.
Don't run a hairbrush through wet hair---it's weakest at this point and can break if you put too much stress on it. Instead, finger-comb your hair to remove tangles, then use a wide-tooth comb to get the tangles out. Once it's 90 percent dry, use your hair dryer on a cool setting and tousle it with your fingers, according to the "Ladies' Home Journal" website.

DIET
Concentrate on eating a diet high in protein, vitamins A, B, C, D and E. Don't forget to include foods such as cheese, yogurt, green vegetables, meat, butter, broccoli and tofu. Your hair benefits from within and responds with a healthier appearance.

Along with ensuring a nutritious diet, make sure you get enough sleep every night and exercise on a regular basis. Physical exertion allows for good blood flow to your scalp and hair while sufficient sleep benefits your overall health.

7 Great Hair Rules for Women

It can be a tough job to keep your hair looking great but also healthy. Unfortunately, once you start losing the health the look is impossible. There are a few things you can do to limit your styling damage while still making sure your hair looks great every time.

1.Choose a Shape that is Easy
Don’t work against your hair. You want your hair to have a shape and a style. That means you need to pick a shape that your hair is not going to fight against. While you can go another direction sometimes, try to stay with what your hair likes to do and then build a style from there.

2.Don’t Skimp on Maintenance
It is so easy to not go in for a haircut or to skip deep treatments but this is death for your hair. Once ends begin to split, the damage grows and the look deteriorates. Take the time to do the proper maintenance for your hair type.

3.Patch Test for New Products
Whether it is do-it-yourself color or just a new product, patch test your hair. Usually everything is fine, but you don’t want to put something on your hair all over to find out that it isn’t. Don’t become a horror story for others to learn from.

4.Be Kind to Your Hair
This means taking the time to do detangling while it is dry, avoiding metal pieces on hair bands and even using heat protectants. All of these little steps help keep your hair healthy over time. You will notice a big difference after you are gentle with your hair for a while.

5.Spend the Money on the Right Tools
Straightening irons and good blow dryers can be a bit expensive. These items tend to last a long time and are worth the investment. If the machines cause less damage and are better for your hair, you will have a style that always looks good. Cheap items tend to have to be replaced often.

6.Don’t Overdo It
You don’t have to do a ton to your hair to make it look great. If you are working hairstyles that take a ton of steps, reconsider what you are doing. This causes damage and takes up much of your time. Pick simple and cute hairstyles, as you are more likely to stick with the protocols.

7.Buy the Right Product
This means if you have dry hair, buy for dry hair. Trying to make a product fit because it does something you think you will like for other hair types is a wishful thinking scenario that never pays off. You have your hair and you have to deal with it.

If you follow these simple rules, you are sure to have an easier time doing your hair daily. You will find that your hair is healthy and in turn you are happy. You might even be surprised at how much less time it takes to fix your hair in the morning!

10 Ways to Look Good in Photos

1. Move your face forward a bit, and tip down your chin.

2. Put your tongue behind your teeth and smile.
It will relax your face.

3. Keep your arms by your side.
But not glued there. To look natural, they should be a little away from your body.

4. Test-drive clothing against a white wall.
With an indirect, natural light source (under a tree, indoors near a window), it will show whether blue really is your best color.

5. As a rule, avoid patterns.

Review: TIGI Bed Head Rockaholic Fun Times Hairspray

Stocking up for a shoot recently I grabbed a can of TIGI Bed Head Rockaholic Fun Times Hairspray. TIGI products for me always perform, and I love the packaging.
I've been using this on clients for a couple of weeks now - so I thought I'd share my thoughts on it, and let you all know whether it's worth a purchase!
Does it do what it promises?
Flexible hold keeps your hair rockin'. Tour tested and rockstar approved! Hold 10-12 inches from hair and spray on for a moveable, crazy good hold!
As a hairspray should, it holds the style in place. It's helped my client's hair stay put through blustery winds and nights out. And it helped create some gorgeous hair for photo shoots!

Would I get it again?
Absolutely, the flexible hold means it's great for securing curls and blowdrys. Using on concentrated areas helps build hold. And there isn't any horrible residue if you brush your style out. What's great is even after brushing hair through, the style holds, which means if you like your curls softer and little more relaxed this will help them stay put.
The smell is fantastic! Been trying to describe accurately what it smells like, and the only way I can is by saying fruit salad sweets. It doesn't have a chemical-hit-you-in-the-back-of-the-throat smell, which is a definite plus from me.
Anything else?
I found I've needed to regularly clean the nozzle to avoid the fine mist becoming heavier.
