Summer Essentials for Preserving Healthy Hair

1. Condition your hair.
If you love the beach but you want to keep looking good, then a tip I have for both pool and ocean loving people is to add olive oil or a leave-in conditioner to the hair before going into the pool or ocean/lake.

2. Spray-On Sunscreen.
Protect your hair and scalp just as you would the rest of your skin.  Cover your part by lightly misting your hair with a spray-on sunscreen before heading outside.  This prevents the pain and peeling of sunburned skin, but also keeps hair color from fading.

3. Hair Ties.
Nylon hair ties are much safter and more effective for pulling hair back into chic buns and twists, just make sure to leave at least an inch at the end to prevent breakage.

4. Wide-Brimmed, Floppy Hat.
The wide-brimmed hats, occasionally referred to as floppy, have made a much appreciated comeback this summer!
